The Bioeconomy Institute provides pre-award support to save researchers critical time in preparation of their competitive research proposals. From complex federal funding applications to philanthropic foundations or small industry contracts, the Bioeconomy Institute makes sure its applicants’ proposals will be competitive, compliant, and responsive to the priorities of each sponsor.
Our institute offers services and resources at no charge to Iowa State University faculty and P&S staff to support all projects that advance the bioeconomy to benefit society.
What BEI offers:
- Locate and review funding opportunities, interpret funding solicitations
- Prepare budgets and justifications for projects of any size ($20,000 - $100,000,000)
- ISU Streamlyne Proposal entry, review, routing, submission, and communication with OSPA
- Serve as Administrative and Financial Liaison with departments, sponsors, & subrecipients
- Project team coordination, both 1:1 meetings and large team meeting guidance
- Provide a checklist of required documentation
- Develop an action-item focused timeline to allow sufficient time to prepare and submit.
- Refer Lead PI to external proposal consultants and internal project managers on request
- Collect, draft, and distribute templates; prepare forms and attachments
- Pre-submission, non-technical review of application package for completeness
- File uploads and final submission to a variety of federal and non-federal web portals
