Conversations About Carbon: Climate Change within the High School Science Curriculum

Conversations about Carbon is a monthly series delivered via Zoom webinar. We will host a virtual discussion with an expert who will address key questions about carbon reduction, removal, and repair. The overall goal is to help move research, education, and extension forward. The series is hosted by the ISU Bioeconomy Institute in collaboration with the ISU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Sandra Campos-Diaz teaches science to high school students in Madison, Wisconsin Metropolitan School District. Engaging students in learning about a range of environmental topics continues to be a part of her motive for teaching. Campos-Diaz has used People in Ecosystems Watershed Integration (PEWI) in her classrooms to model and evaluate the tradeoffs between crop yields, nitrous oxide emissions and nitrate leaching from land uses.
