Biorenewables Art Competition Winners 2013

Old Land, New Purpose, by Naomi Friend

The best-in-show award and $750 went to Naomi Friend for her piece, Old Land, New Purposewhich incorporates cyanotype, van dyke, and watercolor.  As in previous years, the best-in-show piece becomes part of BEI’s permanent art collection.

First place and $350 went to which shows the process from raw wood to charcoal. Second place and $250 went to Ashley Hogenson for her piece, Interwoven, an oil on canvas of Indian corn. Third place and $150 went to David Chadd for his piece, Dust of Daily Life, a ceramic box inspired by Picasso’s famous quote on the purpose of art
