Iowa State University will have a large presence at tcbiomassplus2019, an international conference on thermochemical biomass conversion science to be held this fall. The program features four speakers and four poster presentations from Iowa State. In addition, the Bioeconomy Institute is a sponsor of the event and will have an exhibit. It will also debut a new video on autothermal pyrolysis at the conference.
BEI Director Robert C. Brown is one of the conference’s keynote speakers. Other speakers are Xianglan Bai, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering; Marge Rover, BEI Thermochemical Research Scientist; and Sean Rollag and Chad Peterson, both BEI research assistants and Ph.D. students in mechanical engineering.
Poster presenters include Peterson and Jake Lindstrom, a BEI postdoc, who will present two posters.
The event is Oct. 7-9, 2019, in Rosemont, IL. The 2019 edition of the event is adding new topics, including mixed waste conversion, renewable natural gas (RNG) conversion, and hydrothermal liquefaction, in addition to the gasification, pyrolysis, and upgrading areas that have been central to the conference since its inception.
The 2019 event theme, Real World Solutions Through Green Technology, resulted in a an international program that incorporates presenters from India, Denmark, Sweden, Korea, Italy, Finland, the Netherlands, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom as well as the United States, with authors and co-authors hailing from a host of other countries.
