Ames: Iowa's Future Bio-Indutrial Capital?

The City of Ames is supporting the exploration of a process that converts corn stalks and garbage into "bio-oil."  With the help of the city, Robert Brown, Iowa Farm Bureau Director of the Bioeconomy Institute, and Jim Cooper, coordinator of the Prairie Rivers of Iowa Resource Conservation and Development, will be studying the commercial feasibility of such a process to provide a renewable source of fuel for the Ames power plant.
